2012 European Cosmetics Raw Materials Exhibition: WACKER Presents New Silicone Emulsions and Hybrid Polymers

    Munich-based chemical group WACKER will present a number of new products developed for the cosmetics industry and hair care products industry at the 2012 In-Cosmetics exhibition in Barcelona. The focus will be on BELSIL ADM 6300 E and BELSIL ADM 8301 E silicone emulsions. These two products are a new generation of amino-functional silicone emulsions with good film-forming properties that not only make the hair smooth and dense, but also protect the hair from fading and dryness. In addition, the new silicone hybrid polymer BELSIL P1101, silicone emulsifier BELSIL OW 1500 and silica gel mixture BELSIL GB 1020 will also be the highlights of the show. The 2012 European Inorganic Ingredients Exhibition (In-Cosmetics) was held in Barcelona, Spain from April 17-19.
    BELSIL ADM 8301 E and BELSIL ADM 6300 E are ideal active ingredients for hair care products. Test results show that silicone emulsion can significantly improve the combability of wet and dry hair. By demonstrating BELSIL ADM 8301 E and BELSIL ADM 6300 E silicone emulsions, WACKER will present a new generation of amino-functional silicone emulsion products with good film formation at this European Cosmetics Materials Exhibition. BELSIL ADM 8301 E is a translucent microemulsion with a particle size of less than 50 nm. Unlike BELSIL ADM 8301 E, BELSIL ADM 6300 E is a milky white, coarse emulsion with particle sizes up to 250 nm. Both active substances (whether microemulsions or macroemulsions) are well suited for hair care products.
    BELSIL ADM 8301 E and BELSIL ADM 6300 E silicone emulsions are evenly distributed on the hair and form a protective film after drying. The hair will therefore become silky and smooth, and it will be easy to comb whether it is wet or dry. In addition, silicones protect hair from fading or heat damage when blown. BELSIL ADM 8301 E and BELSIL ADM 6300 E are especially suitable for hair conditioners, hair masks, hair coloring and perm protectants, hair care aerosols, 2-in-1 shampoos and styling products (eg mousses). In addition, the colorless BELSIL ADM 8301 E silicone emulsion is also suitable for the formulation of clear shampoos.
    Firm and soft: silicone hybrid BELSIL P 1101
    WACKER will also showcase the new hair styling polymer BELSIL P 1101. This product is based on the excellent hair styling polymer BELSIL P 101 and combines the properties of the polymer resin (ie strong styling ability) with the typical properties of silicone (eg soft and silky smooth) Combine.
    In the field of hair styling products, BELSIL P 1101 is a polymer with good elasticity and film-forming properties, and is very suitable for formulas which can achieve medium to strong styling effects. Due to its excellent properties, BELSIL P2180 has a high moisture content in the formulation, but it does not adversely affect important product attributes such as setting force, gloss and drying speed. BELSIL P 1101 is compatible with dimethyl ether and with aerosol mixtures containing propane or butane. As a formulation ingredient for hair care products, BELSIL P 1101 also improves the perm protection properties of the product. When heat treatment such as straightening or blowing the hair, it is possible to prevent the hair from drying out and preventing damage to the hair.
    In addition, BELSIL P 1101 can also be used as a film-forming substance in decorative beauty products as well as in sun care and skin care products. BELSIL P 1101 is available as a 50% ethanol solution or as an aerosol, spray, cream and hair spray formulation. The product can also be blended with other modeling polymers.
    Silicone emulsifier BELSIL OW 1500
    WACKER will also showcase the new silicone emulsifier BELSIL OW 1500 at this European cosmetics raw materials exhibition. This product is a water-soluble polydimethylsiloxane copolymer that enhances the stability and rheology of suspensions and emulsions. Formulations containing BELSIL OW 1500 give the skin a better feel when applied.
    As a silicone-containing surfactant, this product stabilizes the foam of shampoos and shower gels while also providing skin and hair care. BELSIL OW 1500 is suitable for use in formulations that are added to transparent products. As a formulation component of creams and lotions, the copolymer acts as a co-emulsifier. It improves skin feel and increases product stability. Since BELSIL OW 1500 is an oil-in-water emulsifier, it is very easy to process. The use of BELSIL OW 1500 significantly reduces the irritation caused by surfactants, emulsifiers, lotions or creams.
    Silicone mixture BELSIL GB 1020
    The silica gel mixture BELSIL GB 1020 will also be on display at the show. The product consists of low viscosity dimethicone and high molecular weight dimethiconol. This mixture combines the properties of a low viscosity oil with the properties of a high viscosity dimethiconol. Dimethicone with low viscosity and excellent spreadability allows uniform distribution of high viscosity active materials.
    Therefore BELSIL GB 1020 is ideal for hair care, skin care and sun care products. When applied to skin care products, the silica gel mixture not only provides protection against water and gas, but also protects and stabilizes the active ingredient. Skin care products containing a mixture of silica gels are characterized by a good hand feel. When applied to hair care products, BELSIL GB 1020 protects the hair while giving it a silky sheen. It can even restore damaged hair to its natural color. BELSIL GB 1020 improves the combability of wet and dry hair and protects hair from damage. The silica gel mixture is suitable for addition to the tip care solution formulation.
