[WACKER] PCHi2016: WACKER launches new silicone elastomeric gel for cosmetic formulations

At the 2016 China International Cosmetics, Personal Home Care Products and Packaging Fair (PCHi), WACKER launched the BELSIL® REG 102 Resin Silicone Gel for the Chinese market. This new elastomer provides a velvety soft feel with excellent spreadability, film formation, water repellency and migration resistance. Also on display were the multi-functional silicone elastomer gel BELSIL® EG 2, the light and non-sticky water-in-oil emulsifier BELSIL® SPG 128 VP, and the skin feeler BELSIL® DMC 6038 for use in serum solutions. PCHi2016 is being held in Shanghai, China from March 1st to March 3rd.

WACKER's new BELSIL® REG 102 resin silicone gel. This new elastomer provides velvety softness and smoothness, excellent spreadability, film formation, water repellency and migration resistance, especially for lipsticks, foundations, sunscreens and more.

BELSIL® REG 102 is a transparent to translucent gel that is added to the formulation to provide shear thinning that spreads evenly over the skin and provides a pleasant, non-greasy silky feel when applied. After the ring body silicone as a carrier is volatilized, the active ingredient in the elastomer gel can rapidly form a continuous, light-feeling and non-sticky breathable elastic protective film on the skin surface, which brings an unexpectedly soft feeling. WACKER's resin-based elastic film not only has natural affinity with the skin, but also greatly enhances the long-lasting resistance of skin care and color cosmetics, especially for lipsticks, foundations, sunscreens and other products.
BELSIL® EG 2 - Multifunctional Silicone Elastomer Gel
During the PCHi2016, WACKER will also exhibit BELSIL® EG 2. This vinyl silicone elastomer gel is widely used in a variety of personal care formulations with its unique sensory properties to meet the increasing performance demands of the market and consumers. Adding a certain amount of anti-aging cream and eye essence formula, BELSIL® EG2 not only enhances the skin feel, but also smoothes fine lines. Its unique matte properties make the visual effect of filling more soft and natural. In the transepidermal water loss test, BELSIL® EG2 exhibits longer-lasting moisturizing properties than commonly used moisturizing oils. BELSIL® EG2 can also be used in a variety of base products to enhance the spreading performance. The light and non-sticky breathable protective film gives the skin a longer lasting softness. After using the BB cream with BELSIL® EG2, the skin tone is even and the pores are invisible, achieving a multi-effect effect. In addition, it is applied in the hair oil formula, which can improve the smoothness and no extra greasy feeling, so that the hair is rich and natural.
BELSIL® SPG 128 VP - Lightweight, non-sticky water-in-oil emulsifier
Water-in-oil formulations are widely used in personal care products such as make-up, sunscreen and skin care products, but emulsifiers in traditional water-in-oil formulations are often prone to sticky and heavy skin feel. In response to consumer demand for light, non-sticky products, WACKER has pioneered the combination of polyglycosides with silicones to introduce the partially recyclable water-in-oil emulsifier BELSIL® SPG 128VP. Add to the formula, it can effectively enhance the spread of the paste, bringing a moist and light feeling, comfortable soft and smooth skin feel and refreshing and non-sticky elegant texture. It has been found that the organosilicon glucoside can effectively improve the dispersion of the toner and improve the sedimentation at a low dosage, so that the water-in-oil formulation containing the high content of the powder can be absorbed lightly and easily, and the farewell is no longer thick. This BELSIL® SPG 128VP is especially suitable for the development of today's popular Yingrun BB, Qing CC cream, air cushion products and gouache.
BELSIL® DMC 6038 - Clear and silky essence
At the PCHi show, WACKER will also showcase the polyether modified silicone BELSIL® DMC 6038. As an excellent skin feel conditioner, whether it is a traditional facial essence or a liquid or mask essence that has high transparency requirements, it can impart a silky smoothness and a moisturizing effect to the formula with a small amount of addition. The sticky feeling of the agent and the thickening raw material also has certain moisturizing properties. It is applied in the hair care essence formula to silky nourish, especially for mild and moderately damaged hair. Experiments have shown that BELSIL® DMC 6038 has excellent compatibility and very stable odor and clarity.
