Recently, the specialty silicone material IOTA 96460 was officially launched. This product is a semi-transparent gel blended from a high molecular weight silicone elastomer and hydrogenated polyisobutylene, specifically designed to enhance the skin feel of cosmetics.
The core advantage of IOTA 96460 lies in its unique velvety smooth texture. Unlike the greasy feel of traditional silicone oils, this product exists in a stable dispersion within the oil phase. After application, it forms a lightweight film on the skin, providing a dry and silky feel. Simultaneously, its slight sebum absorption properties help control facial shine, positively impacting the longevity of makeup.
In terms of formulation, IOTA 96460 supports room temperature processing, effectively thickening the oil phase and reducing the stickiness of the system. The product's D4/D5/D6 content is all below 0.1%, meeting higher safety standards. Its application scope covers multiple categories including skincare, haircare, sunscreen, makeup, and styling products, with a recommended addition level of 1% to 20%.
Industry insiders indicate that as consumers' demands for the skin feel of cosmetics continue to rise, the market demand for silicone elastomer gel raw materials continues to grow. The launch of IOTA 96460 provides cosmetic formulators with another high-performance option and is expected to drive further innovation in high-end skin-feel products.
