2. Weather resistance
The main chain of silicone products is -Si-O-, without double bonds, so it is not easily decomposed by ultraviolet light and ozone. In silicone products, the chain length of Si-O bonds is about one and a half times the chain length of C-C bonds. The longer chain length makes silicone have better thermal stability, radiation resistance and weather resistance than other polymer materials. The service life of silicone in natural environment can reach several decades.
