What is Earth Day?
Earth Day is a special day for world environmental protection. It aims to raise people's awareness of existing environmental issues and mobilize people to participate in the environmental movement.
What is the meaning of Earth Day?
The earth day on April 22, 1970 is the first large-scale mass environmental protection movement in human history. As the beginning of modern environmental protection movement, it promotes the establishment of environmental laws and regulations in western countries. For example, the United States has successively promulgated laws and regulations such as clean air law, clean water law and endangered animal protection law; the earth day in 1970 also contributed to the establishment of the national environmental protection agency of the United States, and to a certain extent contributed to the convening of the first United Nations Conference on human environment in Stockholm in 1972, which effectively promoted the development of world environmental protection.

1. Due to the increase of population and the increasing scale of human production activities, the increase of carbon dioxide and other gases released to the atmosphere, the composition of the atmosphere changes, the quality of the atmosphere is affected, and the global climate is warming.
2. On today's earth, our green barrier, the forest, is disappearing at an average annual rate of 4000 square kilometers. The decrease of forest results in the decrease of species and the loss of soil and water resources, the decrease of carbon dioxide absorption and the increase of greenhouse effect.
3. The global land area accounts for 60%, of which 29% is desert and desertification area. However, the desertification area is still increasing at a terrifying rate of 6 million hectares per year, resulting in many land loss of productivity.
