Silicone surfactants are a type of surfactant with a large amount of usage in the daily chemical industry and can be used in various cosmetics. They are used as emulsifiers in flavors and shampoos. They have the functions of emulsification, foaming, dispersion and solubilization, which can make shampoo foam rich, fine and stable, and have antistatic effects. Silicone surfactants have no side effects on the human body, can form a protective film of fat layer on the skin surface to prevent skin dryness, are excellent skin lubricants and moisturizers, and are particularly suitable for preparing emulsifiers and emulsion stabilizers for facial and eye cosmetics.
Among them, polyether silicone surfactants are the main ones. The combined structure of polysiloxane segment (A) and polyether segment (B) has five types: block AB type, block ABA or BAB type, block (AB) n type, branched type and side chain type. There are two ways to connect the polyether segment and the siloxane segment, namely si-o-c type and s-c type. The former is unstable and belongs to the hydrolysis type, while the latter is stable to water and is called non-hydrolysis type. Polyether silicone is currently used.
