Silicones help improve the appearance of dry and flaky
skin. Most silicones are occlusive to some extent. Occlusive means it protects
the skin and prevents moisture loss from the top layer of the skin. Moisture
can be lost from the surface layer of the skin into the air, also known as
transepidermal moisture loss or occlusive products help to lock in moisture and
help prevent the progression of skin conditions that occur when the skin
barrier is broken down such as; eczema, dermatitis and Psoriasis.
