At present, the varieties of silicone oil used in cosmetics mainly include: dimethicone, cyclopentadimethicone, cyclohexasiloxane, polymethylphenyl siloxane, dimethicone, silone ethylene glycol copolymer, amino-modified silicone oil, polysiloxane protein copolymer and emulsified silicone oil.


As an important ingredient or additive in cosmetics, silicone oil is widely used in skin creams, sunscreens, hair care products, shampoos, hair dye products, shaving creams, antiperspirants, nail polish, eyebrow tracing products and other products. The amount of silicone oil used in various types of cosmetics is different, such as dimethicone in various types of cosmetics: skin washing and cleaning cosmetics are generally 0.1%-0.5%, antiperspirant cosmetics are generally 0.1%-0.5%, shaving cosmetics are generally 0.5%-2.0%, soaps are generally 1.0%-3.0%, sunscreens are generally 1.0%-2.0%.
