Application of Silicone in Cosmetics-Application of Silicone Powder Treatment Agent in Cosmetics

The main principle of silicone surface treatment:
The hydroxyl groups on the surface of inorganic powders are usually hydrophilic and incompatible with organic polymers. Silicone surface treatment can reduce the surface energy of inorganic powders, reduce the agglomeration between powder particles, and be more compatible with polymers and easier to disperse.

Silicone products can play two main roles in it:
Improve the dispersion of agglomerates.
Improve polymer-powder compatibility to improve wetting.

The role of silicone surface treatment:
Silicone-treated products often have better dispersibility, temperature resistance and hydrophobicity. The above effects are mainly achieved through the following methods:
Improve the adhesion between powder and polymer.
Strengthen the wetting of the powder by the polymer.
Improve the dispersion of the powder in the polymer.
Improve electrical properties and improve mechanical properties.
Reduce the mixed viscosity of powder/polymer.
