Trimethylsiloxysilicate (also known as TMS or MQ), a highly cross-linked silicone resin, is used for its film-forming properties. It holds color pigments in place for long-lasting wear in color cosmetics as well as providing waterresistance in sun care formulations. INCI: Isododecane (and) Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a blend of 50% trimethylsiloxysilicate in isododecane. After evaporation of Isododecane, the high molecular weight silicone resin forms a highly durable film on skin. Trimethylsiloxysilicate provides effective and durable film formation, enabling the sun care formulation of long-lasting, high SPF systems and washoff resistance. It is easy to formulate in sun care formulations and helps to create a wide range of products that offer unique skin-feel on application.
