Play the role of Library in disaster education
——Reading and reading promotion in epidemic period
The novel coronavirus epidemic has spread worldwide since the SARS in 2003, the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, and the epidemic spreading around the world. In the past 20 years, the Chinese nation has faced a series of catastrophes. Disaster itself is part of the world, part of life. In the face of disaster, no one can be a spectator. For the Chinese nation, we need to take the course of disaster education. It is a national, constructive and long-term topic to cultivate the disaster consciousness of every citizen. All kinds of libraries at all levels carry out book recommendation and reading promotion activities with the theme of "disaster education", so as to help the public learn the life required course of "disaster education", which is urgent. The library of Nanjing University of Posts and telecommunications has established the idea of this year's reading promotion work: give full play to the library's educational function, focus on the evaluation and recommendation of disaster Themed Books, adopt various forms such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, use multimedia technology such as video, audio, QR code, etc., actively explore new forms and methods of reading promotion during the epidemic period, and give full play to them Collection books, especially Electronic Full-text books, play an important role in disaster education for teachers and students.
The so-called disaster education is to make the public understand that disaster is inevitable, and human history is the history of coexistence with disaster. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the history of disaster development, enhance disaster awareness, understand the causes, hazards and occurrence rules of disaster, so as to better prevent it, fully understand the value and significance of life, and clearly define the government and society, individuals and families They should have their own responsibilities and responsibilities when the disaster comes; have a good psychology of facing the disaster, coping with the disaster, and bearing the disaster; improve information immunity, information judgment, and cultivate the ability to face rumors and panic, take chances and gloat and other adverse phenomena in the disaster; master basic medical knowledge, scientific health care, alleviate pain and live a happy life; and have the ability to overcome the disaster Love life, treat others well, care for the weak, show the good humanity in disaster
To carry out "disaster education" from the perspective of library reading promotion, it is necessary to sort out the books related to disaster education in the collection, analyze their borrowing and version, and select and recommend them carefully. The library of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications launched a series of book recommendation activities during the epidemic period, which selected the keywords such as "epidemic", "rumor", "confidence" and "traditional Chinese medicine" and so on, and carried out the related electronic full-text Book theme push, which was affirmed by the readers.
During the epidemic period, many people were filled with a large number of garbage information, false information and redundant information. The spread of poor quality information promotes the spread of social panic, and even leads to public information anxiety. Therefore, an important task of library reading promotion in the epidemic period is to cultivate users' information literacy, media literacy, reading literacy, and improve the public's ability to identify knowledge and information. For example, in February this year, according to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, Mr. Chen Guosheng accurately predicted the current gengzi epidemic situation ten years ago, and many people forwarded it in the circle of friends. For such "God prediction", Shanghai Library has carried out verification and released the verification process to the public in a timely manner. This practice helps to cultivate the public's good habit of reading the original text and the awareness of actively seeking information rather than passively accepting information. To encourage readers to question, think and seek truth in reading is also the proper meaning of disaster education. It is very important for young readers and college students to improve their information immunity.
In order to evaluate and recommend disaster books, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection and emphasis according to the different audiences. As the old saying goes, "if you are a parent, you do not know how to treat them, which means you are not kind; if you are a child, you do not know how to treat them, which means you are unfilial." That is to say, as parents and children, we must know some common medical knowledge. Reading some books about medicine during the epidemic period is helpful for the middle-aged and elderly readers to understand and understand disasters. For example, Huangdi's Internal Classic, the earliest existing medical classic book in China, is also a profound cultural masterpiece. It focuses on life, discusses the interrelationship between heaven, earth and people, contains rich knowledge of philosophy, politics, astronomy and other disciplines, and is an encyclopedia focusing on life issues. The middle-aged and old readers can use the listening platform to listen to the experts' explanation of the book, and read the original text in contrast. Such reading materials are suitable for disaster education for the middle-aged and old readers.
In order to promote reading in epidemic period, we should overcome the shortage of traditional reading, which is mostly limited in study, classroom, library and other spaces, make full use of ubiquitous technical means, gather relevant information resources and content, integrate different media, and combine reading with audio-visual, physical and sharing, so that readers can form a multi-dimensional reading experience of combination of virtual and real 。 One is push reading promotion, which is similar to the "reprint" in traditional reading. It places or pushes the same or slightly changed content in different forms to different ubiquitous media platforms. The other is expand reading promotion, which is similar to the "adaptation" in traditional reading, which publishes the extended content to different ubiquitous media platforms. The third is trigger reading promotion , similar to the extended reading such as "recommended bibliography" in traditional reading. Links, short messages, QR codes and other means are the key to stimulate cross-media reading behavior; fourth, CO creative reading promotion, such as multi terminal collaborative creative activities, through the dynamic participation of readers, constantly build platforms and links to respond to readers' "reading travel". For example, since February this year, the "reading relay", which is attended by the Jiangsu provincial tiktok office and the Jinling library and other units, has launched a public interest initiative for the public speaking voice. The number of the topic has been nearly 1000, and the volume has been broadcast nearly 100 million times, and achieved good results.
The spread of the epidemic has brought challenges to the reading service of the library. During the epidemic period, the libraries of Nanjing University of Posts and telecommunications, Nanjing University of technology and other university libraries have carried out "no see" book lending and returning services. The "book take out" service carried out by Jinling library and other public libraries using the take out platform has realized the loan and return, which is very popular during the epidemic period and deserves attention and promotion.
